Development

The generation of a 3D GIS of the subsoil requires the following processes:

  • Study and generation of methodologies for the acquisition and transformation of input data to the system provided by companies and public administrations: 2D data from CAD tools, paper drawings, geo-radar data, etc. This information should be transformed into 3D models, databases and appropriate data structures.
  • Definition of integration models of volumetric and vector data. Formal models, data structures and operations on such models. Use of OGC standards.
  • Definition of a spatial database of elements of underground infrastructures with vector characteristics (pipes, conduits, collectors, stopcocks, etc.) with voxelizados (typology of terrain, cavities, destierres, etc.). Topological relations between entities. Definition and study of different types of networks: sanitation, supply and electricity networks.
  • Visualization of 3D models: efficient visualization methods in 3D, sections and terrain profiles, layer management, interaction between system elements.
  • Spatial analysis. Availability of existing facilities. Projection of new facilities. Maintenance of facilities. Study of tightness, pressure, etc.
  • Web-3D: Visualization, management and update of the system from ubiquitous devices.
